Neville Brothers to appear on Treme episode

The Neville Brothers will appear in an episode of HBO’s New Orleans-centered drama, Treme, at 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 (premium cable Channel 300).

Directed by Tim Robbins, the episode takes place as preparations are being made for Mardi Gras in 2008. The Neville Brothers perform in a scene set at the annual Washington Mardi Gras in Washington, D.C. Aaron Neville has a cameo in addition to his lead vocal performance for the Randy Newman-composed “Louisiana 1927.”

Aaron Neville’s annual Christmas tour begins Dec. 1. He performs at the Manship Theatre Dec. 3 and 4. Tickets are still available for the Dec. 3 show.

In other Neville news, his Keith Richards-produced album of personal favorites from the doo-wop era, My True Story, will be released Jan. 22, 2013.
