Tickets available for final Cool Jazz concerts

Tickets are still available for the final two performances in LSU’s Hot Summer Nights & Cool Jazz concert series.

These concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 20-21, in the LSU School of Music Recital Hall, Dalrymple Drive on campus.

The June 20 concert will feature saxophonist Ray Moore, and the June 21 concert is titled, “A Tribute to Early Days of Jazz,” featuring special guest Don Vappie on guitar, banjo and vocals.

The main group in both concerts is the Hot Summer Nights Quartet, featuring Willis Delony on piano, Brian Shaw on trumpet, John Madere on bass and Troy Davis on drums.

This year, there will be an After Glow fundraiser party after the closing concert on June 21 with food, champagne and more music, sponsored by the North Gates Merchants Association.

Concert tickets are $20, general admission; $15, seniors and LSU faculty and staff; and $10, LSU students with ID.

After Glow tickets are $20.
