The deadline is Friday, April 26, for submissions to the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee’s 2013 Treasures of Pointe Coupee exhibit.
The show is the Arts Council’s fourth community art exhibit. Submission forms can be downloaded by visiting https://sites.google.com/site/artscouncilofpc/.
Additionally, forms are available in the lobby at the Poydras Center on Main Street in New Roads.
The show will open with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 31. It will run through Sunday, June 9.
The Saturday hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for June 1 and 8, and Saturday events will include the exhibit and Petite Gallerie, a treasure hunt, demonstrations and an arts market. Added this year will be weekday viewing of the exhibit 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, June 5-7. The hours for Sundays, June 2 and June 9, will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for the exhibit, Petite Gallerie and treasure hunt.
Artists can submit artwork for both the Treasures exhibit and the popular Petite Gallerie. The 2013 theme for the Petite Gallerie is “Simple Joys and Celebrations.” Entries can be submitted in three categories: Youth, age 17 and younger; Adult, age 18 and older; and Photography, all ages.
Petite Gallerie entries must be the entrant’s own work. Entries may be from 4-by-6 inches to 5½-by-8½ inches in size.
Collection boxes have been placed in all Pointe Coupee Parish Library branches. Entries can be mailed to ACPC, Attention: Petite Gallerie, P.O. Box 669, New Roads, LA 70760; or delivered to the Poydras Center during art intake days Monday and Tuesday, May 27 and 28.
