Williams at Art Council

Arts Market set

The Baton Rouge Arts Market will celebrate its 14th anniversary from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3, at 5th and Main streets, featuring the work of more than 70 artists. The Arts Market began in 1998 with 11 participating artists. Since then, it has grown, showcasing the talents of hundreds of artists.

The market also features free children’s art activities from 9 a.m. to noon at the Arts Market’s Kids Booth, and it runs concurrently with the weekly Red Stick Farmers Market and the Main Street Market. Unveiling set

The unveiling of the newly restored lost murals of LSU’s Allen Hall will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Hill Memorial Library and Allen Hall, both on campus. LSU alumnus and art conservator Elise Grenier will make a presentation in Hill Memorial, and a reception will follow in room 139 Allen Hall after the unveiling of the murals in the stairwell.

At Baton Rouge Gallery

Baton Rouge Gallery, 1515 Dalrymple Drive, will open its annual Artist Member Group Show on Sunday, Nov. 4. Highland Road Artists

An exhibit of paintings by the Highland Road Artists will open Friday, Nov. 2, at the Louisiana State Archives, 3851 Essen Lane. Young Composers Camp

Ates in Chicago

Local metal sculpture artist Cetin Ates, a teaching artist at the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, will be a featured presenter at the 19th annual international Sculpture Objects & Functional Art Fair in Chicago, set for Friday through Sunday, Nov. 2-4.

Ates’ work was selected by the eighth annual Art Melt jury to be displayed in the Louisiana State Museum and was commissioned for an outdoor metal sculpture that stands at the main entrance of the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen.

Marathon installation set

Louisiana artist Amy Woodruff will present a 20-hour performance installation from 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, through 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the gravesites of her father, grandparents and great-grandparents in Istre Cemetery in Mementau Cove near Morse in Acadia Parish.
