Wine gala will help Swine Palace troupe

Tickets are on sale for The Fresh Market Wine Gala to benefit Swine Palace, set for 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, on the Reilly Theatre stage, Tower Drive on the LSU campus.

Ticket holders will be able to sample an assortment of 24 champagne and wine varietals, as well as fine food and live music by The Brad Walker Quartet. All proceeds go to benefit Swine Palace. The gala is sponsored by The Fresh Market, B&B Staff Tenders and Lance Hayes Flowers.

Raffle tickets also will be on sale for $5 to win an instant wine cellar – 25 bottles of summer’s finest wine varietals valued at more than $650. And there will be mystery envelope filled with gifts ready to bid on provided by some of southeast Louisiana’s finest hotels, arts organizations, restaurants, spas and businesses.

Then there’s The Brad Walker Quartet, headed by LSU alum Brad Walker. This New Orleans area band showcases a blend of original modern jazz, choice jazz standards and fresh takes on contemporary pop and indie music.
