Troupe will stage one-woman show
Tickets are on sale for the St. Francisville Transitory Theatre’s production of the one-woman play La Concierge Solitaire, set for 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 21-22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Market Hall, 9896 Royal St., St. Francisville.
This original show was written by Matthew Morris and Andrew Farrier and stars Helen C. Jaksch. It was directed by Farrier. The play tells the story of a concierge who lives to serve finding herself strangely alone in the hotel lobby where she’s worked for years. Fine Art of Bowling
Baton Rouge was the host of the United States Bowling Conference Open Championship Tournament, and Visit Baton Rouge teamed with The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and area artists to introduce visiting bowlers to the culture and traditions of Louisiana through the creative expressions of area artists. The result is “The Fine Art of Bowling,” which includes a raffle featuring dozens of artful bowling pins, crafted by Baton Rouge artists that are on display in participating businesses throughout the city. Summer intensive
Registration is open for Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s summer dance intensive workshop, featuring guest instructor Winthrop Corey, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 16-20, at the Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court. Corey has received international recognition as a principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada.
