‘A Night at the Museum’ tickets go on sale for June 16 event
Tickets are on sale for the Capital Park Museum's second "A Night at the Louisiana State Museum," set for 7-10 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the museum, 600 N. 4th St. This year's theme is "The Kingfish Returns!". The event is a fundraiser hosted by the Friends of Louisiana State Museum, blending art, culture and history. Treasures continues
The Treasures of Pointe Coupee community art exhibit continues from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Julien Poydras Center, 500 W. Main St., New Roads. The exhibit, featuring work by local artists, along with the Petit Gallerie will be open. The event is presented by the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee. Admission is free. What's Up, Doc?
The exhibit What's Up, Doc?: The Animated Art of Chuck Jones will open Sunday, June 10, in the LSU Student Union Art Gallery, Raphael Semmes Drive on campus. The show will run through July 29 and is on loan from the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. Jones worked with Warner Bros. Studio, creating award-winning Looney Tunes cartoons. Poster contest
The Best of the Bayou festival is seeking artists to design a poster for the inaugural event set for Sept. 29-30 in downtown Houma. The poster contest is open to professional and amateur artists, age 16 and older, born or living in Terrebonne Parish, Lafourche Parish and surrounding bayou parishes.
