Rock out at the House of Blues or jump into some cage fighting action at the River Center for the weekend of June 15. If loud music and knockouts aren’t your thing, there are other great events from which to choose. Below are the Top 5 nightlife events coming to our area this weekend.

12 Stones

Head to New Orleans on Friday, June 15, to see the Mandeville band, 12 Stones, as they celebrate the release of their new album, “Beneath the Scars.” The rock/alternative sound and awesome guitar solos make this a band worth watching. Never heard their edgy sound? Check out the video, “Bulletproof,” at www.12stones.com. Then, head to www.ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets for the show.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Tickets are $12 in advance, and $15 on the day of the concert. You can also spring for VIP seating for $30.

Wayne Toups

The Texas Club welcomes Louisiana native Wayne Toups to their stage this Friday, June 15. Originally from Crowley, this popular country singer and accordion player has contributed to the music of many top performers including Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. His fusion of musical genres, which he calls “ZyDeCajun,” includes the sounds of rock, folk, R&B, and of course, cajun music.

Doors open and 8 p.m., and there is a $15 cover at the concert.

Chad Hays

Comedian/radio emcee Chad Hays will be performing at The Funny Bone Comedy Club on Saturday, June 16. Hays’ jokes about small town Louisiana keeps his audiences entertained. Check out some of his comedy at www.ChadHaysLive.com.

Hays has two shows—8 p.m. and 10 p.m.—on Saturday, June 16. Tickets start at $10 at www.funnybonebatonrouge.com.

Stacked 2

Come out to the Baton Rouge River Center for live mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting. On Saturday, June 16, USA-MMA and Beat 2 Sleep will present Stacked 2. This event will feature a Pro-Strike Championship match as well as two Pro-MMA Championship matches. Fighters include Dustin Johnson, Josh Davila, Johnathan Mackles and many more.

General admission tickets start at $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the fight. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Salsa! Night

Varsity Theatre’s one-year anniversary of Salsa! Night is here. Join the Varsity Theatre on Saturday, June 16 for a night full of salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaeton. This event will feature three DJ’s as well as a Zumba class. Dress in your sexiest salsa outfit and get ready to dance all night.

Get your Salsa! Night tickets at www.varsitytheatre.com for $10. The event kicks off with a Zumba class from 9-10 p.m.
