Two men shot Saturday in Central City

Two men were shot late Saturday night in Central City, according to records from the New Orleans Police Department.

The shooting occurred a few minutes before midnight in the 3400 block of Erato Street.

Both men were taken to a hospital by private transport.

No further information was made available.

Man shot Saturday night in Gentilly

A man was shot Saturday night in Gentilly, according to Officer Frank Robertson, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department.

The 25-year-old man was sitting in the front room of a residence in the 2400 block of Lavender Street about 11 p.m. when he heard gunshots. He ran to the rear of the residence and realized he had been shot in the hand.

The victim was taken to the hospital by EMS and was in stable condition, Robertson said.

Motorcyclist killed in Algiers accident

An unidentified 25-year-old man died Saturday night when his motorcycle ran into a vehicle at Gen. Meyer Avenue and West Homestead Drive in Algiers, police said.

The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Police said the motorcycle was “traveling at a high rate of speed.”

Woman stabbed Saturday in Metairie

A woman was attacked by an assailant with a knife Saturday night in Metairie, according to records from Jefferson Parish 911 headquarters.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 2800 block of David Drive.

The woman’s injuries were minor.

Man slices neighbor with box cutter

A man sliced his neighbor with a box cutter Saturday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of France Street.

Sterling Moses, 37, was arrested for aggravated battery in the incident.

Police said he “initiated a fight” with the victim, a 20-year-old man, who suffered lacerations and was transported to Interim LSU Hospital.
