Add another line to Terrance Broadway’s résumé: The Louisiana-Lafayette quarterback on Monday was named the Sun Belt Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year in balloting by the league’s coaches and select media representatives.

Broadway, a senior who went to Capitol High School, completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 2,419 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2013. He added 442 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground while leading the Ragin’ Cajuns to a share of the conference championship and a third straight win in the New Orleans Bowl.

Arkansas State’s Qushaun Lee was named Defensive Player of the Year. Lee, a senior from Prattville, Alabama, last season led the conference in tackles with 134 — the sixth-most in Sun Belt history and the most by an Arkansas State player since 1991.

Four other Cajuns joined Broadway on the first-team offense: running backs Alonzo Harris and Elijah McGuire, offensive lineman Daniel Quave and receiver Jamal Robinson. UL-Monroe’s Rashon Ceaser, a former East Feliciana standout, was a first-team receiver.

UL-Lafayette had three players on the first-team defense: defensive lineman Justin Hamilton, linebacker Dominique Tovell and defensive back Trevence Patt. Defensive lineman Gerrand Johnson made the team from UL-Monroe.
