The New Orleans Pelicans have acquired guard/forward Alonzo Gee from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for future draft considerations.

The trade of Gee helps Cleveland clear out cap space to acquire free agent LeBron James and future free agents this summer.

Gee, who is 6 feet 6, 220 pounds, played in 65 games including 24 starts, for Cleveland last season, averaging 4.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 15.7 minutes per game.

For his five-year career, Gee has appeared in 277 games (173 starts) and has career averages of 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.1 minutes per game.
