A 21-year-old man arrested Thursday is accused of asking to hold a friend’s gun in July, then turning the gun on his friend and robbing him of a cellphone and $10 cash.
Baton Rouge police booked Lekendrix Dremon Lanus, 21, 6705 Sandy Creek Lane, Zachary, into Parish Prison on a count of armed robbery, according to a warrant issued for his arrest.
The victim, whose age wasn’t included in the warrant, told detectives that he took out his Glock handgun inside his vehicle on July 14 to show it to an “old friend,” who police identified as Lanus, the warrant says.
But as soon as Lanus had the gun, he turned it on his friend and demanded his belongings, which included an iPhone 4 and $10 cash, the warrant says.
Lanus is accused of fleeing from the car, which was in the 3200 block of Victoria Drive, with the victim’s gun, money and cash, the warrant says.

Three men were arrested Wednesday and accused of burglarizing Bridgers’ home while armed with dangerous weapons.
