JA MOBILE FINANCE PARK, Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge, Paula Bradley (225) 928-7008 or pbradley@jabatonrouge.com: JA Finance Park helps middle school students understand personal financial decision-making through an experiential, real-life simulation. STEP BACK IN TIME, Old State Capitol, Susan Vincent (225) 924-0573 or oscdocents@att.net: Make history come alive for visitors at the Old State Capitol by volunteering as a docent, who provide visitors with stories of the Old State Capitol, its architecture and its place in Louisiana’s political history. Docents also engage visitors and inform them about the exhibits and events held there.

VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE, Capital Area United Way, Jillian Sergio (225) 382-3507 or JillianS@cauw.org: Volunteers needed for the 2014 tax season. Last year VITA volunteers helped our community save a an estimated $677,850 on tax preparation fees. VITA volunteers will receive IRS training in October and November to provide free tax preparation for low-to-moderate income families who need assistance with their tax returns.
