Atlanta — The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced Tuesday 25 finalists will be on the ballot for induction into the fifth class of the hall. The list includes 20 players and five coaches/contributors.
Among the finalists are two former Southern players: wide receiver Harold Carmichael and defensive back Aeneas Williams.
Former Grambling players included defensive lineman Ernie Ladd and defensive back Everson Walls.
The 2014 class will be announced Oct. 23. New members will be honored at an enshrinement ceremony March 1, 2014.
The Black College Football Hall of Fame was established to honor football players, coaches and contributors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
