Carolyn Bankston’s eighth-grade gifted students at North Corbin Junior High School in Walker recently completed a nonfiction unit in reading on biographies. Each student selected a person as their biography subject, designed a powerpoint presentation about the person and constructed a look-alike of the person, using a water bottle.

This project presented the student with experiences in creating an outline, split-page notetaking, writing a bibliography and writing a research report.

The biography bottle people are on display in the school library.
