Warm Banana Topping
Serves 4 to 6. Recipe is by Corinne Cook, who says, “I get all the ingredients out and make this right before serving. This has no alcohol in it.”
1⁄3 cup light brown sugar, packed
¼ cup butter
½ cup half-and-half
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1⁄8 tsp. nutmeg or to taste
3 large bananas, peeled and sliced crosswise
3 tbls. orange juice
Vanilla ice cream
1. In medium skillet, add brown sugar, butter, half-and-half, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add bananas and orange juice.
2. Place back on heat and cook until bananas are heated through, carefully stirring. Serve warm topping over vanilla ice cream.
