Man stabbed to death in his home

Baton Rouge police are searching for a man wanted in the stabbing death of Cedric Hamilton, 57, who was found early Saturday lying on the kitchen floor of his Edwin Street home.

Hamilton died about 3 a.m. at his home at 8853 Edwin St. after he was stabbed multiple times, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, police department spokesman.

The victim had a group of people over at his house and got into an argument with one of the men, McKneely said.

“They got into an argument, which led to a tussle, and the tussle ended up with him being stabbed,” McKneely said.

The suspect, identified by others at the house as the person who stabbed Hamilton, left the scene in a blue Dodge Challenger, McKneely said.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Violent Crime Unit at (225) 389-4869, or Crimestoppers at (225) 344-7867.
