Pavement restriping projects underway this weekend in Ascension

State highway officials advise motorists they plan to impose rolling closures on Stringer Bridge Road and La. 431 Saturday and possibly on Sunday during a pavement restriping project, officials said.

The closures will occur on Stringer Bridge, also known as La. 935, between La. 22 and Tannis Road, state Department of Transportation and Development officials said in a news release this week.

La. 431 will be closed from Lake Park Avenue to North Lone Oak Street, DOTD officials said.

The closures on both highways will start at 6:30 a.m. and lasting until 7:30 p.m. both days, if needed, DOTD officials said.

Closures will affect both directions of traffic but will not occur on both highways at the same time, officials said.

The closures will allow vehicles to pass through the construction zones only if the vehicles are 11 feet wide or narrower, DOTD officials.

Northbound oversized vehicles on La. 935 from La. 22 should travel west on La. 22 to Weber City Road, then west on La. 429 to La. 431 and then north on La. 431 to La. 935.

Oversized vehicles headed east on La. 935 at La. 431 would take the same route but in the opposite direction.

Oversize vehicles traveling north on La. 431 at U.S. 61 should travel south on U.S. 61 to La. 22, travel north on La. 22 to La. 429 and west on La. 429 to La. 431.

Vehicles traveling south on La. 431 at La. 429 should take the same route in the opposite direction.
