Melissa Bowman, of Baton Rouge, will be featured on Tuesday’s episode of Oxygen’s “My Big Fat Revenge.”
The show “gives women a life-changing opportunity to get healthy, find their confidence, and find closure to their painful pasts,” according to the network. “After being discounted, humiliated, and rejected because of their weight, they are ready to put their past behind them and finally stand up to the people who have inflicted emotional pain. These women will have the chance to change their lives for the better and teach their former offenders the lesson of a lifetime and hopefully get the apologies they deserve,” a news release said.
When Bowman turned to a longtime male friend for comfort during a vulnerable time in her life, their relationship turned into something more, but he chose to hide their status, especially from his friends. In the episode, the friend will have nowhere to hide as Bowman hopes to show him just what it feels like to be ashamed and embarrassed.
The show airs at 8 p.m. (cable Channel 229).
