The New Orleans Police Department is looking for a man who snatched a cellphone Saturday on Decatur Street.

According to police, a man grabbed the victim’s iPhone out of his hands as the victim walked in the 400 block of Decatur Street at 2:30 a.m. After he grabbed the phone, the thief ran down the street to a parking lot in the 400 block of Conti Street. The victim chased the thief and attempted to catch him, but was unsuccessful, the police said. The victim described the thief as a black male, between 25 and 35 years old with a dark complexion, short curly hair and a thin build. The subject was clad in an oversized black T-shirt and dark pants.

Police searching for robbery suspects

New Orleans police are looking for two armed men who robbed a gas station Monday in New Orleans East.

Police said that at approximately 1:40 a.m., two men entered the gas station in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue and brandished semiautomatic handguns before robbing the clerk.
