OPELOUSAS — A field day of activities for beef cattle ranchers in Acadiana is planned for Oct. 3.
The session will take place at Dominique’s Stockyard in Opelousas. It’s sponsored by the LSU AgCenter, the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association and the Louisiana Forage and Grassland Council.
St. Landry Parish county Agent Vince Deshotel said registration will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Presentations include using carcass ultrasound technology for the beef herd, bull fertility testing, trichomoniasis, new uses of artificial insemination, successful ryegrass planting, pasture weed identification and control, and Dominique’s marketing and services.
Dominique’s is at 2800 W. Landry St. in Opelousas.
