LAKE CHARLES — Lake Charles Regional Airport will get a $1.8 million federal grant for taxiway and apron improvements.
Airport Executive Director Heath Allen said the grant will give the airport a significant boost in surface maintenance efforts.
The project will cost more than $2 million, with the state funding 10 percent of the value of the federal grant, Allen said. The existing taxiway and apron pavement requires rehabilitation to ensure safe airfield operations.
