Two arrested in assault, robbery on Avenue I

Baton Rouge police arrested two men Thursday accused of robbing a man at gunpoint Aug. 8 and striking him in the face several times, breaking his nose.

Police booked Damien M. Wilson, 29, 9963 Avenue I, Baton Rouge, and Raymond Williams, 29, 208 Cypress St., Baker, into Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery and aggravated second-degree battery, according to warrants for their arrest.

Wilson and Williams are accused of walking up to the victim in the 10000 block of Avenue I around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 8, punching him in the face multiple times and then stealing money, a cellphone and a ring from him.

Nine people booked on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least nine people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, booking records show.
