Karnival Krewe de Louisiane names 2014 debutantes

Karnival Krewe de Louisiane has announced 14 young women to be formally presented as its 2014 debutantes at the group’s 27th annual Mardi Gras ball on Feb. 14 at the Baton Rouge River Center.

They are Madeline Elliott Abadie, daughter of Creighton and Amy Abadie; Katherine Claire Babin, daughter of Dr. Kevin and Paige Babin; Chancely Nicole Courson, daughter of Bud and Gay Courson; Megan Rachel Elofson, daughter of Dr. Rodger and Tracey Elofson; Elizabeth Rae Foshee, daughter of Ronald and Conchetta Foshee and Katie and Jacque Lasseigne; Blair Catherine Ginn, daughter of Scott and Laurie Ginn; Sydney Carter Gordon, daughter of Dan and Laura Gordon; Victoria Catherine Gulino, daughter of Barry and Laura Gulino; Brittany Haaga, daughter of Brett and Melanie Haaga; Lindsay Nicole Hagmann, daughter of Joey Hagmann and Joe and Anita Coyle; Rachel Nicole Jordan, daughter of Jon and Stephanie Jordan; Alabel Sybil Michelle Olinde, daughter of Tom and Cheryl Olinde; Meghan Elizabeth Phillips, daughter of Shanon Phillips and Stephanie Taylor; and Angelle Marie Suire, daughter of Dan and Laura Suire.

Madeline Elliott Abadie, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of John and Alma Roy and Sara Abadie and the late James Abadie.

Katherine Claire Babin, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of Sam and Paula Speligene, of Gonzales, and Shelton and Lena Babin, of Geismar.

Chancely Courson, a senior at University High School, is the granddaughter of Mike and DiAnne Blouin and Claudette Courson, of Crossett, Ark., and the late Sonny Courson.

Megan Rachel Elofson, a senior at The Dunham School, is the granddaughter of the late Merle and Melba Warren and Cissy Elofson and the late Rodger Elofson Sr.

Elizabeth Rae Foshee, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of the late James and Wanda Wood, and Kay Foshee, of Madison, Miss., and the late Ed Foshee.

Blair Catherine Ginn, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of Patrick and Rose Marie Richard, of Labadieville, and Launnie and Sara Ginn.

Sydney Carter Gordon, a senior at Collins Hill High School in Lawrenceville, Ga., is the granddaughter of Dr. Bill and Jan Daly, and Gene and Gail Gordon, of King, N.C.

Victoria Catherine Gulino, a senior at Parkview Baptist High School, is the granddaughter of Mireille Brosset, of West Monroe, and the late Jarry Brosset, and Carl and Nelwyn Gulino, of Opelousas.

Brittany Haaga, a senior at The Dunham School, is the granddaughter of Dr. Edmund Nagem Jr., of Salem, S.C., and Catherine Lea Nagem, of Gulfport, Miss., and Gary and Starr Haaga, of Slidell.

Lindsay Nicole Hagmann, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of Bill and Edna Ray, of Mobile, Ala., and the late Raymond and Thelma Hagmann.

Rachel Nicole Jordan, a senior at The Dunham School, is the granddaughter of Stan and Josie Roberts, of Purvis, Miss., and Mary Roberts, of Picayune, Miss., and Roy and Diane Jordan.

Alabel Sybil Michelle Olinde, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of Al and Sybil Barton, of Covington, and JB and Tyke Olinde.

Meghan Elizabeth Phillips, a senior at Parkview Baptist High School, is the granddaughter of Al and Sandra George and David and Emily Phillips.

Angelle Marie Suire, a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, is the granddaughter of Gerald Hitzman, of Houston, and Gail Major, and Dan and Ann Suire.

Karnival Krewe de Louisiane raises funds for the cancer program of Our Lady of the Lake and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center to benefit Baton Rouge area cancer patients.

Each year the krewe has been able to provide from $175,000 to $200,000 to the program.
