New Orleans-based government services firm Hernandez Consulting was the state’s highest-ranked firm at No. 526 on the 2013 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies.
The company’s revenue jumped 867 percent to $16.8 million.
Hernandez Consulting, which grew from four workers to 19, provides project management, construction, design, environmental, design, environmental, sustainability and security services to the government sector.
Its growth has been largely driven by Veterans Affairs projects in Louisiana, including the hospital in New Orleans, and Texas, said Alex Hernandez, president and founder of Hernandez Consulting.
“That’s probably about-two thirds of our work,” he said.
In the 2012 Inc. 5000, Hernandez Consulting ranked No. 191 nationally but was second in Louisiana behind Lafayette-based Townsend, a network of addiction treatment clinics. Townsend ranked No. 182 on the 2012 list.
