The board of supervisors for the Juban Crossing Economic Development District will meet at 6 p.m. while the board for the Juban Crossing Community Development District will meet at 6:30 p.m.
The Parish Council serves as the board of supervisors for both districts.
The Economic Development District collects sales taxes within the development area, which is located off Interstate 12 and Juban Road in Livingston Parish. The Community Development District assesses property taxes in the area.
The Economic Development District will discuss issuing $50 million in sales tax revenue bonds for the project while the Community Development District will discuss issuing $12 million in taxable revenue bonds.
The bonds will have to be approved by the State Bond Commission if approved by the Parish Council.
The meeting comes shortly after the Parish Council rejected directing more parish road sales tax revenue to the long-awaited Juban Crossing project.
The Parish Council Chambers are located at 20355 Government Blvd., Livingston.
The Remodelers Council of Greater Baton Rouge will host a seminar in Livingston Parish for people considering remodeling projects.
The public will learn where and how to start their remodeling project, what licenses and/or permits are required by a contractor, why the lowest bid might actually end up being the most costly, and how to design and make the changes to their home so that they can remain in their home as they get older.
This is the second of several seminars that will be held in various locations around the region.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Holmes Building Materials, 1102 Florida Blvd. S.E., Denham Springs.
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors has joined with CRBA to help educate the public on how to avoid getting scammed by unlawful contractors and to better understand the correct licenses they should expect from their contractor.

The Livingston Parish School Board’s budget and goals committee will meet Tuesday evening.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the School Board’s headquarters at 13909 Florida Blvd., Livingston.
Committee members will discuss the school system’s 2013-14 budget.
The Livingston Council on Aging will hold an End of the Summer Dance for seniors from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center, 949 Government Drive, Denham Springs. Cliff Nickens will perform. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed. The cost is $6 per person or $10 per couple at the door.
