ALICANTE, Spain — Freshman Raigyne Moncrief scored 12 of her game-high 20 points in the second half as the LSU women’s basketball team closed out its Spain exhibition schedule in Spain with a 79-42 win over the Catholic University of Murcia on Sunday.
In Sunday’s game, Shanece McKinney netted 12 points, Anne Pedersen added 11— including six straight in the third quarter as all nine players scored for the second straight day.
Rhodes had 15 points and buried two 3-pointers.
MALL BALL SET SATURDAY: The LSU men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their “Road to Tipoff” for the upcoming season Saturday with their annual appearance at “Mall Ball.”
The Tigers and Lady Tigers will be in the Macy’s wing at the Mall of Louisiana from noon to 2 p.m. signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
The “Road to Tip Off” is a series of preseason events which allow Tiger fans to follow the men’s and women’s basketball teams at appearances around Baton Rouge and the LSU campus before the season.
All events are free, and more detailed information will be available before each event on social media and LSUsports.net.
Other events scheduled at this time include: the first “Bayou Madness” Oct. 10 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center; the annual “Student Block Party” Oct. 22 in Free Speech Alley in front of the LSU Student Union and some appearances by the head coaches at local establishments, including at TJ Ribs during the Les Miles weekly radio show.
