First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending Aug. 10 decreased to 2,719 compared to 2,844 a week earlier.
The state’s labor department said the four-week moving average of initial claims, a less volatile measure, decreased to 2,806 from the previous week’s average of 3,068.
Continued unemployment claims for the week ending Aug. 10 decreased to 26,891 compared to the previous week’s total of 26,907.
The four-week moving average of such claims increased to 26,824 from the previous week’s average of 26,718.
