Hammond police want to question pair in shooting case

Police on Wednesday asked for the public’s help in locating two men implicated in a nonfatal shooting during the weekend in Hammond.

Melvin “Melvo” Jackson, 32, and Marvin Dokes, 29, no addresses given, are wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting at 504 JW Davis Drive on Saturday, police spokesman Lt. Vincent Giannobile said.

Police have issued misdemeanor warrants for the arrest of the pair, Giannobile said.

The victim was shot in the face early Saturday, Giannobile said. He is in stable condition.
