The body of a missing 17-year-old Garyville boy last seen more than four months ago was found in a shallow grave Wednesday, the St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s office said Friday.
Two men were arrested Wednesday and another suspect on Friday in connection with the killing of Mikivon Maleei Anderson, St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said in a news release.
Since April, authorities have suspected foul play in Anderson’s disappearance. He lived on the stretch of Little Hope Street in Garyville where 29-year-old Michael Lee was shot to death in January.
Brandon Braxton, 18, of 181 Marigold St., and Nathis Burl, 18, of 318 Marquez St., both in Mount Airy, were charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. District Judge Mary Hotard Becnel set bail for each man at $1.6 million, Tregre said. Both remained in custody Friday at the St. John Parish Correctional Center.
A 15-year-old from Garyville, who was not named, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy and obstruction of justice, Tregre said.
Tregre said Friday that the investigation is ongoing.
