ASSESSOR’S OFFICE OPENS TEMPORARY OFFICE: The Orleans Parish Assessor’s Office has opened a temporary third location in the Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive, second floor.

Property owners from across Orleans Parish are invited to meet with office staff at this location or the traditional locations: the fourth floor of City Hall, 1300 Perdido St. and the Algiers Courthouse, 225 Morgan St., weekdays until Aug 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No appointments are necessary; individuals will be assisted on a first-come, first served basis. The Orleans Parish assessor took these steps in order to diminish lines and wait times. Assessment rolls opened July 15, meaning homeowners have four weeks rather than two to appeal.

And for the first time, property owners can also submit appeals online. Go to www.nolaassessor.com.
