Women gather for cancer support

Girl Talk is a support group for women who have been diagnosed with one of the gynecological cancers, are actively being treated or have completed treatment.

There will be a discussion about topics concerning women dealing with cancer. This meeting is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the M-5 patient lounge of Touro Infirmary, 1401 Foucher St.

Mall walking group meets at Lakeside

The Greater New Orleans Immunization Network bus offers free shots to children who lack insurance coverage for vaccinations.

Classes help siblings in expectant families

Touro and West Jefferson Medical Center offer free sibling classes for children whose family is expecting a new baby. The classes covers such topics as what happens when mom goes to the hospital and what to expect when the baby comes home.

Tai chi and chi kung offered in City Park

Classes in tai chi and chi kung are offered every Monday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the NOMA Galleries. Develop physical stamina, promote relaxation, harmony and balance are achieved through stretching exercises, standing postures, repetitive movements and abdominal breath technique. Cost is $5. Stroke classes offered patients, caregivers

The Blood Center of Southeast Louisiana is seeking donations of whole blood and platelets.
