LSU walk-on defensive lineman Jeremy Peeples is transferring to play football at Tulane, according to a source.
Peeples joined the Tigers in 2010 as a 6-foot-4, 237-pound defensive lineman out of Selma, Ala.
He played on special teams in three games last season, against North Texas, Idaho and Auburn, without recording a tackle.
He is expected to help provide some depth to a depleted Tulane defensive line that has lost three nongraduating players at the position since last season: Wendell Beckwith, Devin Williams and Taylor Perry.
Peeples joins fellow LSU transfer Chris Davenport in making the move from Baton Rouge to New Orleans this season, however their situations are different.
Davenport is listed atop Tulane’s preseason depth chart at nose tackle and comes over after graduating from LSU as a former five-star high school prospect.
The Green Wave starts preseason camp Aug. 2.
