It appears one-time LSU football commitment D’haquille Williams will be a Tiger of a different stripe.
A few weeks before the start of his sophomore season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Williams committed to Auburn, according to several recruiting websites.
Williams committed in early May to LSU, but decided less than two weeks later to withdraw the pledge and reopen his recruitment.
The former East St. John standout is regarded as the nation’s top junior-college wide receiver prospect. He is listed by 247Sports as the No. 1 junior-college prospect overall.
As a freshman at Mississippi Gulf Coast, Williams had 67 catches for 1,295 yards and 17 touchdowns, and earned Freshman All-America recognition.
Williams would be part of Auburn’s 2014 signing class.
