The Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation has named Devienne Theriot, of Mandeville, its new ProStart coordinator.
Theriot, who spent the past 10 years working at Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, is a certified business education teacher
Theriot will oversee 46 existing ProStart programs and develop new programs and partnerships, said Alice Glenn, the foundation’s executive director.
ProStart is a nationwide, two-year culinary program that offers high school students an industry-driven curriculum from cooking techniques to management skills.
Criollo Restaurant, in New Orleans’ Hotel Monteleone, is offering 20 percent off lunch or dinner for guests staying at the hotel.
The hotel is at 214 Royal St. in the French Quarter.
Windsor Court Hotel, 300 Gravier St., New Orleans, is celebrating National Ice Cream Month by offering an ice cream biscuit sandwich through July.
The cool treat, concocted by pastry chef Shun Li, is made of Fernet Branca ice cream sandwiched between two buttermilk chocolate biscuits.
Cost is $6 per sandwich and is available in the lobby’s craft cocktail spot, Cocktail Bar, the Polo Lounge and the hotel’s restaurant, The Grill Room.
