Fans of the TV reality songfest “American Idol” will have a chance to get up-close and personal with their idols from season 12 as New Orleans’ very own finalist, Burnell Taylor, and his fellow contestants stop at New Orleans as of part their summer tour.

The American Idol Live Summer Tour will be in town for a one-night-only performance at 7.30 p.m. Tuesday at the UNO Lakefront Arena. Tickets start at $31.50.

For the latest tour and ticketing information visit: americanidol.com/tour or aeglive.com. For every ticket purchased, “American Idol” will donate $1 to The Melanoma Research Alliance to help find treatments and a cure for melanoma.

“Idol” fans are in for one very big show.

Named American Idol for season 12, 23-year-old Candice Glover, of St. Helena Island in South Carolina, will perform her single “I Am Beautiful,” along with other solo and group performances from the top 11 finalists.

They are Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Burnell Taylor, Candice Glover, Curtis Finch Jr., Devin Velez, Janelle Arthur, Kree Harrison, Lazaro Arbos and Paul Jolley. Plus, Aubrey Cleland, who was voted on to join the tour by Idol fans as the 11th Idol finalist.

The concert will feature favorite songs that were performed throughout the season as well as never-before-seen performances.

Fans might also get some insight into what has become of the possible romance between New Orleans’ own heart-struck Taylor and his fellow contestant, 18-year-old Holcomb, of Houston.

The day before he was voted out of the competition in April, Taylor confessed on live TV to his crush on Holcomb. Rumors have been floating around as to whether romance did blossom or if it fizzled between the two.

Romance or not, there barely seems to be a break for the finalists.

After completing a rigorous four months of competition, Candice Glover was announced the winner of the reality singing competition at the finale on May 16. Two months later, the Idols are back on a whirlwind 30-show summer concert tour across North America.

Kicking off in Kent, Wash., on July 19, the tour is traveling the United States and Canada, stopping in major cities, including Portland, Ore.; Los Angeles; Miami; Houston; Boston; Toronto, and finally finishing in Nashville, Tenn., on Aug. 31.
