New Orleans posted its second shutout win in two days with a 9-0 victory over Oklahoma City in the first game of a doubleheader Friday. In the nightcap the RedHawks posted a shutout of their own with a 5-0 win.
In the first game, the Zephyrs scored two runs in the first and third innings and added a five-run outburst in the fifth inning.
Jordan Brown, Jake Smolinski and Kyle Jensen paced the Zephyrs’ attack with two RBIs each. James Leverton (3-1) got the win, going three innings, allowing three hits and no runs.
In the second game, New Orleans had only four hits, while Oklahoma City scored five run on nine hits. Scott McGough (0-1), who allowed three runs on six hits, was the losing pitcher.
