Southeastern Louisiana University staff librarian Beth Stahr has been selected to participate in “Leading to the Future,” a four-day immersive leadership development program for future library leaders offered in August by the American Library Association.

Stahr, head of reference and instruction at Sims Memorial Library, was one of 40 librarians selected nationally.

Stahr was named the Outstanding Academic Librarian by the Louisiana Library Association and was promoted to full professor in 2012. She is an alumna of Southeastern, having completed a master of arts in organizational communication in 2011. Stahr is active with the Southeastern chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and is a board-certified genealogist who has lectured at national conferences.

Military

KILCREASE COMPLETES BASIC: Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Gage M. Kilcrease graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Michael Kilcrease, of Walker, and the grandson of Cynthia Kilcrease, of French Settlement, and is a 2012 graduate of Parkview Baptist School.

KELLY COMPLETES BASIC: Army National Guard Pvt. Quentin Kelly has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Darlene Kelly and grandson of Felton Kelly, both of Baton Rouge, and is a 2012 graduate of Belaire High School.
