GONZALES — Two Gonzales men have been booked on drug counts in Ascension Parish.
Sheriff’s deputies began a drug investigation at a residence in the 43000 block of Poche Lane in Gonzales after receiving complaints.
During a traffic stop executed on Justin Poche, deputies allegedly found him to be in possession of both heroin and synthetic marijuana, Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said in a news release Thursday.
A subsequent search of Poche’s residence turned up several Ultram pills. Ultram is a prescription pain reliever.
Poche, 19, of 43100 Poche Road, Gonzales, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Wednesday on counts of drug possession, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies also arrested Brennan Haymon, 22, of 40600 Champion Road, Gonzales, and gave him a misdemeanor summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession after allegedly finding him in possession of a marijuana pipe during the search of Poche’s home.
