Letter: If it can fly, let it fly

So, I would like to get this straight:

First an American Bald Eagle was found injured, deemed unflyable, and given to the Baton Rouge Zoo on permanent loan.

On the eve of Independence Day, the Bald Eagle, now very much capable of flight, escapes back into the wild.

Now we are trying to find it to put it back in a cage?

Does this make sense to anyone?
