A Baton Rouge man accused of robbing a Circle K convenience store with an accomplice on June 27 was arrested Tuesday.
Austin Gray, 19, 970 Senette St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery, prison records show.
Gray jumped across the clerk’s counter and demanded money after he and another man walked into the Circle K at 2205 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., at 10:42 p.m., an affidavit of probable cause says.
The other man pulled a gun on the clerk.
Gray and his accomplice took the money, then ran out to a waiting black Nissan Altima, the affidavit says.
Before police could catch the vehicle, Gray and the other man abandoned it and ran away, the affidavit says.
Police identified Gray and the other man as the robbers after a witness told police he drove them to the store but didn’t know they were going to commit a crime.
A 59-year-old woman and her 33-year-old daughter are accused of coercing three of the daughter’s children into recently stealing thousands of dollars worth of valuables.
Raven Nelson, 33, and her mother, Rebecca, 59, both of 4712 Bradley St., Baton Rouge, were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on July 3 on counts of forgery, theft, illegal possession of stolen things, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, access device fraud and criminal trespassing, prison records show.
Additionally, Rebecca Nelson is accused of cruelty to juveniles, after East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies discovered scars on a 10-year-old’s face that other family members said were caused by Nelson, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The Nelsons allegedly forced three of Raven’s children between the ages of 6 and 13 into stealing credit cards, wallets, purses, cellphones, iPads and other items on various dates and occasions, the affidavit says.
On July 2, Raven is accused of coercing one of her children into stealing an iPhone 4 from the employees-only area of Twin Peaks, 6990 Siegen Lane, and then paying for her family’s meal with a stolen credit card, the affidavit says.
A 19-year-old man accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at a June 21 party was arrested Tuesday.
Casey Collier, 4744 Idlewood Drive, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with simple rape, prison records show.
The rape occurred at a party at 12443 Fairhaven Drive.
The victim told police she drank alcohol, became intoxicated and the last thing she remembered was walking into a bedroom and being followed by Collier, an affidavit of probable cause says.
The victim said she woke up in pain and she was bleeding from her vaginal area. The victim told police she did not consent to sex with Collier.
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.
