Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith made a $3,500 donation to the Children’s Wish Endowment, money that was raised at the chief’s golf tournament at Royal Golf Course in May.

The Children’s Wish Endowment is a local nonprofit organization that provides wishes to St. Tammany Parish children and teens who have been diagnosed with chronic, life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

Some of these dreams consist of trips to Disney World, celebrity meetings and trips to concerts and sporting events.

The primary purpose is to provide children who have known illness all their lives with a few moments of joy.

“It’s nice to be able to make a donation to a great organization and for such an awesome cause,” Smith said.
