BATON ROUGE AREA

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. has named Jody Horton as special risk business unit manager; David Tucker as agency relations manager; Angie Risley as manager of financial reporting; and Shelly Vigé as premium audit manager.

Horton was agency relations manager. Tucker was agency relations representative. Risley was senior financial analyst. Vigé was a technology and operations specialist.

Rose J. Hudson, president/CEO of Louisiana Lottery, was elected secretary of the Multi-State Lottery Association, a nonprofit organization of 33-member lotteries. Hudson was also tapped as vice chairman of the association’s Powerball game group that manages the game’s $2 million annual budget, rules and policies.

NEW ORLEANS

Bob Rhoden has been elected chairman of the board of the Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans.

Other officers are Tom Grace, immediate past chairman; Wayne M. Baquet Jr., chairman-elect; Christy M. Howley Connois, secretary; and Geoffrey C. Artigues, treasurer.

Tulane University President Scott Cowen has been named to the Presidential Innovation Lab, an effort by the American Council on Education to examine how new educational technologies such as massive open online courses can help more Americans, especially low-income young adults and non-traditional students, earn a college degree.

LAFAYETTE

Bob Miller has been named product development lead managing the GIS team in information technology at Fenstermaker.

Miller was with the Lafayette Economic Development Agency as the driving force behind The Opportunity Machine, a program established to assist technology startups in Lafayette.

AROUND LOUISIANA

R. Parke Ellis, chairman of Gillis, Ellis & Baker Inc. in New Orleans, has been elected president of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana.

Louisiana 4-H has elected Anne Catherine LeBlanc, of Vermilion Parish, as president.
