Baton Rouge police arrested two New Orleans men accused of robbing a man, then forcing him to drive to a convenience store to get them more money.
Police booked Bertell Raymond Thomas, 29, and Jamal A. Woods, 21, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday on counts of aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery, according to affidavits of probable cause.
Thomas, 4918 Cardenas Drive, and Woods, 10831 Roger Drive, and two unidentified people pulled up to the victims in a white Ford Explorer and demanded money and drugs.
The robbers took $400 from one victim, who then offered to get the suspects more money if they followed him away from the other victims.
The robbers forced the victim to drive someone else’s vehicle to a convenience store, where he called the police.
Thomas and Woods fled from the vehicle, but were later caught and identified by the victim.
Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
