The Red Stick Farmers Market and Louisiana 2 Step will celebrate Louisiana’s peach harvest in downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday morning.
In the “Fresh From the Market” cooking demonstration, Jay Ducote, of Bite and Booze, will join host chef Celeste Gill as they prepare classic peach recipes with a modern twist.
The cooking demonstration begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in the North Street seating area inside Main Street Market.
The Tuesday Farmers Market on Goodwood Boulevard is now open, weather permitting, with a variety of summer produce, including corn, blueberries and summer squashes.
There will be no Thursday Market this week because of the July Fourth holiday. However, more than 20 vendors will participate in a special Wednesday market, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
Also on Wednesday, the Red Stick Mobile Farmers Market will be at the Scotlandville Branch Library, 7373 Scenic Highway, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and at Star Hill Church, 1400 N. Foster Drive, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be a Fresh Market watermelon tasting, and music will be provided by The Porch Rockers beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Crescent City Farmers Market hosts three markets.
On Tuesday, the market is in Uptown, 200 Broadway Street, New Orleans, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursdays find the market in Mid-City, 3700 Orleans Ave., New Orleans, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The market comes downtown on Saturdays, 700 Magazine St., New Orleans, from 8 a.m. until noon.
