Thirty-eight students received orientation June 4 as part of North Oaks’ Health System’s Junior Volunteer summer program.
“Our program offers teens ages 14-17 a unique opportunity for community service and career exploration in an environment of commitment and responsibility,” said North Oaks Volunteer Coordinator Malissa Gonzalez. The program is from June 10 to July 26.
This year’s Junior Volunteers represent 12 high schools in Livingston, Tangipahoa, Orleans and St. Tammany Parishes. Schools include Albany High School, French Settlement High School, Hammond High Magnet School, Holden High School, Jesuit High School, Loranger High School, Mandeville High School, Ponchatoula High School, St. Paul’s High School, St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School, Springfield High School and Walker High School.
