HAMMOND — No one but a single bank teller knew that First Guaranty Bank in Hammond had been robbed Saturday morning until after the holdup man casually walked away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Investigators were searching for a roughly 5-foot-8-inch, 150-pound, short-haired man in his mid-50s who allegedly handed a note to a teller saying that he had a gun and demanding money from her, according to a Hammond Police Department news release.
After walking outside and without ever displaying a weapon, the robber drove away in a 1990s Dodge Dakota pickup truck heading east on West Thomas Street, the news release says.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the Hammond Police Department at (985) 277-5701, or contact Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa at (800) 554-5245.
A reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest, the release says.
