Man accused of shooting at vehicle

A 20-year-old man accused of shooting at a moving vehicle on June 1 has been arrested by Baton Rouge police officers.

James Franklin Williams, 20, 722 North St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Wednesday on counts of attempted second-degree murder, prison records show.

The victim, who was not injured in the shooting, was driving south on 38th Street when his vehicle was struck by at least three bullets, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

The victim told investigators June 4 that he believed Williams was the shooter, and later picked him out of a photo lineup, the affidavit says.

The victim told investigators that Williams is the ex-boyfriend of the girl he currently dates, the affidavit says.

Six people booked on DWI in EBR

Authorities arrested at least six people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.
