JEFFERSON — Stewart Enterprises, which has a deal to be acquired by Service Corporation International, reported second-quarter net earnings of $11.9 million compared to $8.7 million for the same period in 2012.
Per-share earnings amounted to 14 cents compared to 11 cents a year ago.
Its six-month net earnings totaled $27.4 million, or 32 cents per share, compared to $17.3 million, or 20 cents per share, in 2012.
Stewart announced plans on May 29 to merge with SCI.
