“I’m a Cajun” signed into law

Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Wednesday he is signing into law legislation that will allow Louisiana motorists to proclaim “I’m a Cajun” on their driver’s licenses.

State Sen. Fred Mills, R-St. Martinville, filed Senate Bill 201 to allow the designation to be added in the color block below a driver’s photograph.

Adding the designation would cost the motorist $5 a year.

The money generated will go to the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana.
